HFFS Packaging Machine Solution for Roll Film Flat Pouches and Sachets
HFFS Packaging Machine Solution for Roll Film Flat Pouches and Sachets
Horizontal form fill seal (HFFS) packaging uses roll film to form a pouch, fill the product and seal the package in one continuous process. It is a practical choice for flat pouches and sachets where the pouch format, film structure and dosing method need to work together.
When to choose an HFFS packaging machine
Choose an HFFS solution when your packaging is made from roll film and the required format is a flat pouch, sachet, 3-side seal or 4-side seal bag. The selected machine and pouch design determine the available pouch dimensions, sealing layout and optional features. A sample pouch or drawing is the best starting point for confirming feasibility.
Product and dosing configuration
HFFS packaging can be configured for powders, granules, liquids, sauces or pastes, and small solid products. The filling system must match the actual product behavior. For example, flow characteristics, particle size, viscosity, temperature and filling volume all affect the suitable dosing method. A product sample and target fill range allow Grepack to recommend the appropriate configuration.
HFFS or a premade pouch packing machine?
HFFS equipment uses roll film to make the pouch during production. If you buy finished stand-up, zipper or spouted pouches, a premade pouch packing machine is normally the better route. This distinction is important: it helps avoid selecting a roll-film machine for a pouch that is supplied ready-made.
Information needed for machine selection
To prepare a suitable HFFS packaging proposal, please provide the product name and sample, pouch format, pouch dimensions, film structure, filling volume, target output and any required coding or downstream equipment. If you already have a printed pouch design, include the artwork or layout so the sealing area and registration requirements can be reviewed.
Build the right packaging line
An HFFS packaging machine can be supplied as part of a wider packaging line when the application needs feeding, dosing, date coding, inspection, conveying or packing after the pouch is sealed. The final line configuration should be based on your product, film and production target rather than a generic machine specification.
Send Grepack your product and pouch details to discuss a roll-film flat pouch or sachet packaging solution.
